Observing User Behavior: More Signups, But Fewer Sessions Created
More Traffic, Less Action
The numbers are slowly trending upward — more users are finding TuneVote, logging in, and creating accounts.
However, we’ve noticed a clear pattern: many people sign up but stop short of actually creating a session. Even private sessions, which should be the easiest starting point, are rarely being created right away.
This gap between signup and active use is something we’re watching very closely.
The Surprise Manual Signup
Today brought another interesting moment.
A user created an account the “old-fashioned” way — by manually typing in their email and password. No Google Login, no Facebook. Just a classic registration form.
I have to admit, I didn’t expect that to happen much anymore. In an era where everyone seems to want everything done as quickly as possible, manual signups feel almost retro.
But maybe I’m underestimating how many people still prefer this method. It’s a good reminder that user preferences can be more diverse than we assume.
The Engagement Challenge
While it’s encouraging to see new accounts being created, it’s a bit disappointing that so few users take the next step and start actively using the platform.
We want people to jump in, create a session, invite others, and experience the fun of democratic music voting. Right now, many are exploring but not yet engaging.
That’s valuable information.
Turning Observations into Improvements
Every signup — whether through Google or manual registration — gives us data we can learn from:
- What brings users to the site?
- Where do they get stuck or lose interest?
- What might be holding them back from creating that first session?
We’re using these insights to refine the onboarding experience, simplify session creation, and make the value of TuneVote clearer from the very first click.
At least users are coming — and that gives us a solid foundation to build on for marketing and product improvements.
We’re Listening and Iterating Fast
Our goal remains the same: make TuneVote so intuitive and useful that signing up naturally leads to immediate, enjoyable use.
We’ll keep observing, testing, and improving as quickly as possible.
Ready to Break the Pattern?
If you’ve signed up but haven’t created a session yet — this is your gentle nudge.
Creating your first session literally takes seconds, and it’s the best way to understand what TuneVote is really about.
Try it now: Log in (Google or otherwise), create a private session, add a few songs, and invite a colleague or friend to vote along.
Experience how fun and fair group music selection can be when everyone has a voice.
We’d love to see you actively using the platform — and we’re working hard to make that first step even smoother.
